Good condition artist : 今井政之 Imai Masayuki (1930-) was born in 1930 in Osaka. He created a unique technique called 苔泥彩 "Taidei-sai" and established his own unique territory in the world of contemporary pottery. He is known as a master of the technique of inlaying patterns of flowers and fish and is highly regarded overseas. He served as a judge for the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition at an unusually early age. In 1976, he became a council member and in 1998, a board member, establishing his position as a prominent artist of the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition. In 1993, he received the Kyoto Prefecture Cultural Award for his outstanding achievements and was awarded the Order of the Blue Ribbon. He has also served as a member of the International Academy of Ceramics and as a director of the Kyoto Cultural Foundation. In 2011, he was selected as a Person of Cultural Merit and honored for his contributions to Japanese culture. In 2018, he was awarded the Order of Culture.
