2019 Chateau Lafite Rothschild - Bordeaux 1er Grand Cru Classé - 1 Imperial (6.0L)

The production of Grand Vin Château Lafite Rothschild follows a meticulous process. Only the barrels containing the highest quality wine are selected for the final blend. After this selection, the wine is aged in new oak barrels for 15 months and fermentation takes place in 15 days at a controlled temperature of 18°C. For the creation of this prestigious wine, exclusively vines over 10 years old are used, with a predominance of Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by Merlot and a small part of Petit Verdot. The Château Lafite Rothschild vineyard covers an area of 112 hectares and is divided into three main areas: the slopes around the Château, the Carruades plateau to the west and a 4.5 hectare plot in the neighboring municipality of Saint-Estèphe . The soil is composed of fine, deep gravel mixed with windblown sand, over a well-drained and exposed tertiary limestone subsoil. The grape varieties grown are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
