Mesopotamian Old Babylonian Clay Cuneiform Tablet Fragment With Presentation Stand
Ancient Mesopotamian clay writing tablet dating to the Old Babylonian period (1894 BC - 1595 BC). Artifact has a cone shape with engraved cuneiform scripts on the front and on both sides, its back is irregularly and covered with earthen deposits. Cuneiform script was formed by impressing a sharpened reed or stick into the still-wet clay just before undergoing the firing process. It was used to record such things as temple acquisitions, land transactions, financial loans, as well as their epic stories and personal letters.
