Beautiful post-impressionist autumn landscape by the Czech painter Karel Hodr, who lived and worked in Prague and at the Lake Constance (Bodensee) in Germany. It shows a lakeside landscape with reeds on the bank. The painting is dominated by strong blue colours, contrasted with autumnal orange and yellow. Hodr studied at the Academy of Art in Prague and moved to Constance (Germany) in 1965. There he led a school of painting ("Konstanzer Künstler-Akademie"). The painting is signed "Karel Hodr" lower right, there is also a metal sign reading "Prof. Karel Hodr" on the frame. On the reverse side of the painting there are a biography of the artist, his signature and the title of the painting. The painting is in excellent condition and comes with an elaborate frame. Photos 1-7 were taken in bright sunlight, in other conditions the colours are darker (see photo 8). The painting will be packaged carefully and sent off quickly by registered mail.
