No. 82640007
No. 82640007
This early 20th century watercolour & gouache study depicts a beautiful Japanese Geisha wearing a luxurious silk kimono, adorned with delicate embroidery and hand-painting. Every part of her expensive kitsuke has been carefully tucked and folded into place. Unsigned.I would guess early 20th century for the dating. The artwork has a strong resemblance to the woodblock prints of Hashiguchi Goyo who was called the Utamaro of the Taisho period (1880-1921), and most of his most famous works were done in the Taisho period The colourful portrait has been well presented in a slim new black frame with plexi glass for a safty packing. Slight discoloration of the silk in a 3 cm strip on the left side. Very detailed collector's piece. Safty packing. Parcel delivery with Mpl 6-9 workdays in Europe.
