Karel Appel (1921-2006) - L'Eloge de la Folie - XL

#SS24 Hereby I offer the beautiful lithography by Karel Appel titles "L'Eloge de la Folie" made in 1977. L'Eloge de la Folie is French for The Praise of Madness. The litho is hand signed and numbered 10/110 by Karel Appel himself. Dimensions: 70 x 53 cm (90 x 70 cm in frame). The artwork is framed professionally. This litho is a beautiful abstract composition full of vibrant colors. It is a very nice example of Northern European expressionism. The most interesting feature of the artwork is the high contrast between different colors and between pure black and bright colors. Karel Appel is one of the most important exponents of European expressionism. In 1948, he founded the Co.Br.A movement. NOTE: The artwork can be picked up or shipped - in consultation with the buyer. In case the buyer decides for shipping, then the glass will be excluded from the list to avoid damaging the lithography during transportation. In case the buyer decides to pick up the artwork, it can be picked up in Copenhagen, Denmark. By bidding on this item, the buyer acknowledges and agrees with these conditions.
