Charming Wajima lacquer 輪島塗り oblong serving tray with foldable legs, a type known as ‘daimyô’zen’ 大名膳. Such a luxurious variant, that it is fitting even for a feudal lord.
The surface with a nice design of angelfish swimming amongst seaweed strands.
Rendered in hiramaki-e 平蒔絵 (low-relief lacquer design) in different shades of golden with highlights of silver.
Sealed with a 2-character name seal in the lower right corner, by the Lacquer art studio ‘Inachu’ 稲忠漆芸堂 (Inachu Shitsugeu Dô).
Inachu Lacquerware Studio in Akita Prefecture specializes in durable, affordable products emphasizing traditional Wajima lacquer techniques. Utilizing local woods and intricate decorations, it gained attention with designs suited for modern living, blending history with innovation.

Period: Japan – Mid-Shôwa period (Mid-20th century).
