This listing is for one A5 size album (16 pages) of Japanese stamps, many mint, and over 1400 used mostly commemorative Japanese stamps. The vast majority of stamps are in good, fine and very fine condition. However, there is the odd damage, such as teeth missing, wrinkles and marks/stains, especially in the older ones. There may also be some hinge marks. Please carefully look at the pictures for your own impression. All the stamps in the album are pictured. The album itself is in used condition with marks on the cover and some marks on the inside films (please see pictures). The album contains: Prewar stamps, dating back to 1875, mostly commemoratives, many mint. Of special interest are 3 copies of the 1894 Silver wedding of Emperor Mutsuhito including one mint (with hinge trace) and the 1896 Sino Japanese war series (including one mint no gum). These stamps are sorted by date of issue, though please forgive some mistakes as I am an amateur, not an expert. There are many mint stamps and some postal used, please see pictures. Commemorative stamps, 1950s, 60s, 70s, many mint and some postal used. National parks and quasi National parks, all mint as far as I can see. Fish and shellfish series (1966-67), mint Tokyo Olympics series, 1961-64, incomplete, postal used and mint Bird series 1963-64, postal used 1st National treasure, incomplete, 1967-69, postal used Folk tales series 1973-75, postal used Nature conservation series 1974-78, mint and postal used Ryukyu stamps, all mint as far as I can see With the album comes a selection of over 1400 postal used Japanese stamps of all eras, from the 1950s to the 2020s. The majority of these stamps are commemoratives, however I have included some greeting stamps and a few older definitive stamps. I made the selection myself from the stamps I have available, and tried to include stamps from as many eras as possible, from the 1950s to the 2020s. I have done my very best to remove damaged and duplicate stamps, however please forgive me if there are some that I missed. There are a few postal used versions of the album's mint stamps too. There are many series stamps, for instance modern art series, waterside birds, endangered birds, my favourite songs, Western architecture etc etc. Please note once again that I am an amateur, not an expert, and I am selling my own collection (album and stamps from boxes which I bought a long time ago and am just getting round to sorting now). Unfortunately on Catawiki potential buyers cannot contact the seller before the auction ends, but I will happily try and answer questions from the successful buyer if I can. The stamps come from a variety of sources, Japanese and international dealers and private sellers, and a few from my own post. Total weight around 700g (without packaging).
