Romero, Enric Badia - 1 Original page - Axa - Daily Strip #386 - 1979

Artist: Enric Badia Romero (biography) Medium: Pen & Ink on Acid-free Paper Date: 1979 This is the Signed unique original Pen & Ink drawing by Enric Badia Romero. This is the original artwork Romero inked for an episode of the AXA story 'The Desired'. This strip features a beautiful close up of Axa, as well as a atmospheric long shot with a long staircase and a final panel which speaks for itself. A nice touch is that 'The Rulers' of the Sea-Dome are all women as the society is fiercely Matriarchal. The strip is date stamped on the reverse by the Sun Newspaper, so we know this was first published on 15th October 1979. The strip has been rebubbled in Spanish for a translation which appeared, so we add the original English text here for reference: Axa in The Sea Dome... - Men built the Sea Dome, yes! But designed it? You must be joking! - We know our place. Here in the fields.. Down in the pressurisation plant... wherever there is brute work to be done... - We leave the brain-work to the rulers … . Please note that any import duties or taxes are the responsibility of the winning bidder. If multiple pieces from The Vaults of The Book Palace are won in this auction by the same bidder, only one set of shipping charges will be applied.
