New Musical Express was the foremost music magazine in the UK in the 1970s and 1980s. This very fine collection of NME issues covers the period from 12 January to 4 October 1980, featuring articles on (among many others) David Bowie, Joy Division, Undertones, The Jam, PiL, Selecter and Gang of Four and Pretenders, but also Ian Dury, Tom Petty, Elvis Costello, Sting, Iggy Pop, Mick Jagger. Pete Townshend and Two Tone Records. The issues were bought during my studies in Cardiff and, having been read intensely, folds, creases and tears abound. For further details see the photos.
