Orlando Furioso by Lodovico Ariosto. In Paris, in the printing house of P. Plassan, 1795. Famous Parisian edition of Orlando Furioso illustrated by 91 (out of 93) Full-page engraved plates taken from the Baskerville edition and from that of Cochin as well as the biography of Ariosto written by Barotti and the "Warnings of Geronimo Ruscelli for the intelligence of this poem". Elegant full leather binding with gold decorations on the plates and spine, golden cuts. Internally in good condition with fresh paper, occasional light browning and scattered foxing. We note in Volume II a small stain on the upper frame from pages 85 to 371. Total number of pages: Volume I (2 blank + LXXI + 360 + II blank) - Volume II (2 blank + 452 + 1 blank) - Volume III (2 blank + 448 + 1 blank) - Volume IV (1 blank + 452 + 1 white.
