E. Lawrence ("Lawrence of Arabia"), while serving as a liaison officer with rebel forces during the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Turks of 1916 to 1918. This copy is the second impression, August 1935, of the first edition for general circulation printed in 1935. The book includes an introduction, 10 books, 2 appendix of ‘Nominal Roll’ Places, Personal Names, and Index. Illustrated with portrait frontispiece of Lawrence, 53 Full page portraits, and 4 folding maps. Published by Jonathan Cape, London, 1935. Original Sand-coloured cloth, spine lettered in gilt, upper board with centre gilt motto of double crossed swords ('The sword also means clean-ness and death'). Top page edges gilt. Book Dimensions: 26 x 20 x 5 cm and Number of Pages: 672 including 2 appendix and index Weighing in excess of 2 kilograms. Condition The book is beautifully bound, designed and illustrated. Firm and well bound copy. External covers are clean and in nice shape. Internally the book is in very good condition (it appears not fully read as some pages still uncut). No names or inscriptions. Pages are clean, with occasional light foxing on few pages, and page edges. All pages are tightly held at the gutter. Inner hinges are very good. The text and plates are clean and bright (Lovely Copy) (Please see pictures).
