He expressed his passion for motorsport in drawings and paintings with acrylic paint, with or without airbrushing. In 1995 he started his own business and produced a large collection of works of art and commissions. Through motorcycle fairs he came into contact with motorcycle clubs and the TT Circuit, which led to becoming a speaker at motorsport events. In 2004 he started as a motorsport commentator at Eurosport, which he did for 18 years. He is currently still a teacher at Drenthe College in Assen and became national MBO Teacher of the Year in 2015.
