In 1844, the well-known Barão de Forrester, included this property in what was the first map of the Douro Demarcated Region. But the most important history of this property began in the last century, in 1941, when the Fortunato family acquired the property, thus starting a new phase of greater investment in wine production, with a special focus on Port Wine. Later on, the DOC Douro still wines also became part of the portfolio. WINEMAKER: Luís Rodrigues. WINE VARIETIES: Tradition from Douro Region. VINIFICATION Quinta da Devesa Port Wines, are produced exclusively from lots vinified and aged in the estate. These extraordinary quality wines are used today to produce Quinta da Devesa Port Wines. This 50-Year-Old Port is obtained from a selection of grape varieties recommended for the Douro region. The ageing process occurs naturally over many years, in oak vats at Quinta da Devesa cellars, thus resulting in a darkened colour. Quinta da Devesa vineyards are managed using sustainable agricultural practices, in accordance with the Sustainable Agriculture Integrated Production guidelines, certified by an independent organization, recognized by the Portuguese State. TASTING NOTES Deep golden color, with hints of green. The nose reveals a very high complexity, with balsamic notes of cedar and tobacco box, hints of ginger, spices, caramelized fruit and apricots. On the palate is soft, fresh with a very long finish. SERVING Serve at 14ºC. Once opened, preserves its good tasting notes for at least 2 months.
