The Promontory wines have always benefited from time in the bottle. In 2017, the red-tinted fruit profile is a strong marker. Rose petals, lavender, blood orange and vibrant acids bring liveliness everywhere. 2017 is a little lower in alcohol than most vintages, due to a freakish turn in sugar ripening resulting from very hot days at the end of the season. Winemaker David Cilli gave the 2017 32 months in barrel, a little longer than usual, to help all the elements come together, a choice that has paid big dividends. #CollectableWineandWhisky
