Aloxe-Corton Premier Cru is a title reserved for still wines (red or white) produced under strict conditions from 14 identified vineyards, or climats, in the Aloxe-Corton appellation of the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy. The vast majority of Aloxe-Corton premier cru wines are red, produced predominantly from the flagship red grape of Burgundy: Pinot Noir.
Ladoix is a forgotten Burgundy village that can offer good value. This wine with its strawberry fruits and gentle tannins fits the bill. There is a fine, ripe feel to it, and a dry edge that sets off the fruitiness.
