The Swabian War of 1499 (Alemannic German: Schwoobechrieg (spelling depending on dialect), called Schwabenkrieg or Schweizerkrieg ("Swiss War") in Germany and Engadiner Krieg ("War of the Engadin" in Austria) was the last major armed conflict between the Old Swiss Confederacy and the House of Habsburg. Large folio leaf with 4 woodcuts (1 large battle scene and 3 Coats of Arms): 37.3 x 23.2 cm Wonderful richly illustrated woodcut leaf from the exceedingly scarce first edition of the great Stumpf Chronicle, one of the greatest illustrated works on the early to mid 16th Century.
