A very RARE edition of the Carroll's timeless classic "Alice's adventures in Wonderland"!!! Published in Moscow. Octavo. Illustrated cloth boards without wrappers as issued. No inscriptions or blemishes, a beautiful bright about fine copy. Externally only some shelfwear, numbers written on back board-see photo. The English text is accompanied by a foreword and commentary in Russian written by the critic Dimitry Urnov who places the book in it s literary context for the Russian reader. The illustrator Shukaev [1932-1988] was a cartoonist for the Soviet satirical magazine Krokodil. He does not appear to have illustrated any other books except the companion volume to Alice, 'Through the Looking Glass'. Very rare 1967 original edition. Almos impossible to find. ONLY for Alice's collectors.
