A large Chinese doucai 'Lotus pond and bamboo' porcelain dish (platter, charger). China, 1st half of the 18th century. Qing dynasty, Yongzheng (1723-1735, 雍正) to early Qianlong (1736-1795, 乾隆) period. Extremely rare item of amazing quality in great condition!
Masterfully painted and enamelled in doucai palette, central medallion depicting a lotus pond and bamboo within a band of with underglaze blue diaper pattern and six reserves with orange/red flowers. Border with four reserves with flower sprays. Exterior not decorated. Nice finished foot-rim in ivory color.
UV- and daylight pictures included.
Dimensions: diameter – 32,5 cm; height – 4,1 cm. Weight – 812 g.
Provenance: private collection, Brussels, Belgium.
Conditions report: very good condition for the age, minimal fritting and tiny chips to the top-rim and small chips to the foot-rim only. Minor firing faults possible. UV- and strong white light tested. Check pictures for details.
