The Philippe Pacalet whites need time to unfold and blossom – especially the Corton-Charlemagne. The 2011 tasted recently is now beginng to show, and I must say this is one of the better 2011 whites I have tasted recently – a wine with a fine future ahead of it. The nose is now beyond the exotic fruit – and is staring to offer classical mineral notes and citrus infused chalky fruit. It’s a fresh and balanced wine – with fine acidity and freshness for the vintage.
