Pretty lacquer tea caddy 棗 (natsume) by Yamashita Taien 山下泰園 (1961-?)
with refined hiramaki-e 平蒔絵 (low-relief lacquer design) showcasing autumn leaves 紅葉 (momiji) being carried by a meandering stream.
Executed in shades of gold lacquer with Nashiji 梨子地 (sprinkled gold lacquer) accents on a glossy black lacquer substrate. The interior is also coated with the same smooth black lacquer finish.
Bottom signed with 2 kanji 漢字 (Chinese characters).
Including original wooden signed and sealed tomobako 供箱 (storage box), signed and sealed 'Taien' 泰園 by the artist Yamashita Taien 山下泰園 (1961-?) from the city Yamanaka, Ishikawa Prefecture.
The natsume is in a very good original condition. Please look a the photos for a condition reference.
