Jean Cocteau (Maisons-Laffitte 1889 – 1963):
French poet, novelist, playwright, designer and filmmaker. In the 1930s he made jewellery for fashion designers Elsa Schiaparelli and Coco Chanel. Jean Cocteau died on 11th October 1963, the day after his friend Édith Piaf passed away.
