A Very Rare Pair of Chinese Famille Verte Vases - Porcelain - China - Kangxi (1662-1722)
This lot comes from the private collection of Mr. J. Bahamonde who over a period of 20 years acquired his collection from various prestigious dealers. His degree in archaeology from one of the best British universities and passion for Chinese art is reflected in these pair of vases.
The very rare pair of vases decorated with flying dragons amongst wispy clouds; Ex Sotheby's sale 24/04/1978. The pair of vases come with their 18th century French Ormolu stands and caps. These vases are much nicer when seen in person, the photos do not do justice to these beautiful pair of vases.
Height: 20 cm. (excluding stands)
Condition: Good overall, both vases had their necks been reduced in the 18th century, and stands and caps added. Check with UV and white light. Once vase have a fork-like hairline, and minor repair on top. Note, the stands were unattached to check the base rim, but these can be reattached again.
