Fedor van Kregten (1871-1937) - Grazing cows

Rendered with detail and vibrant colours, this artwork transports you to the idyllic Dutch countryside. Amidst the lush greenery, a herd of cows peacefully grazes, their gentle movements captured in graceful brushstrokes. Self taught, Fedor van Kregten (Dutch 1871-1937) had no direct mentor and learned his art by pure observation, but was hugely influenced by the new art of the 'Hague School'. Soon he had developed a unique style which rapidly gained him a reputation as an artist. His specialty is landscape paintings, often with many cows, calves or flocks of sheep. Van Kregten went to great lengths to paint as faithfully as possible. For example, he lived in Notter – where he had his studio – with cows. He even ate and slept with them to understand the animals' structure and atmosphere. All for the sake of art. ⦿ Signed l.r.: F v. Kregten ⦿ Dimensions approx.: 30 x 40 cm without frame, 51 x 61 cm with frame. ⦿ Condition: showing normal signs of aging. ⦿ Period estimation: 1920s ⦿ Please note: the frame comes as a gift and should be treated as such. The book was used for illustrative purposes only. ⦿ Safe ✓ fast ✓ eco-friendly ✓ tracked ✓ insured shipping, from Germany or pick up. ⦿ Please reuse or recycle the packaging. Thank you!
