This representation of the Bodhisattva who hears the cries of the world reflects the depth of mercy and benevolence, standing as a beacon of hope and salvation. Kwan Yin is revered for the ability to take thirty-three different forms to save all beings from suffering. The lotus flower in the hand symbolizes purity and the untainted heart, while the ornate crown and the poised stance atop a lotus blossom underscore the sanctity and exalted status of the figure. The statue itself is finished with a mix of gold powder and lacquer, creating a shimmering effect that embodies the divine aura of Kwan Yin. The altar cabinet’s exterior is finished in a rich black lacquer, while the interiors of the doors boast a meticulous application of gold leaf, lending a radiant contrast to the solemn exterior. The remaining surfaces are treated with a lacquer mixed with gold powder, enhancing the cabinet's dignified appearance with a subtle, reflective glow. Signs of age, such as surface wear, stains, minor scratches, and tarnishing of metal fittings, are present, contributing to the rich history and authenticity of this devotional piece. We encourage you to view the photos provided to appreciate the condition and craftsmanship fully. The Buddha statue and its base are fixed inside the cabinet and cannot be removed, but there is a slight wobble at the insertion point of the statue's foot. Dimensions: approx.
