Rory Cadzow - Leopard with Cub

The first from a collection of four to be made available for auction, this drawing of a leopard with her cub was made from reference to a photograph by Ahmed Galal. It was completed over a couple of months using pencil, graphite powder, brush and eraser on a heavyweight paper (220g/m²). Once the auction costs have been deducted from the final bid amount, 100% of the remainder will be donated to the charity WildCats Conservation Alliance. The original drawing will be issued to the purchaser along with a copy of the charity’s e-receipt. As no solvents have been used to fix the graphite in place, the drawings will always remain fragile. Care will be taken to retain their finished state during shipping. The work will be protected by a layer of glassine paper (held in place to reduce any abrasion to the surface) rolled, wrapped in a waterproof sheet and stored in a rigid tube for transit. Once received the piece (including the protective layer) can be carefully removed from the tube and allowed to return to its original flat form. Care should be taken to avoid any folds or creases during this step. The work will be well protected from accidental damage once framed behind glass,. A professional framer will know how to prepare and frame a graphite image.
