An early Victorian walnut, boxwood and ebony strung crossbanded jewellery box, the hinged top inlaid with various coloured woods, enclosing a silk lined lift-out tray. The inlay is truly beautiful, made to a quality beyond the financial reach of most of us today. Inside the lid is a padded red silk flap which opens to reveal a storage place for flat items, the tray below is compartmentalised, three with padded silk lids (one handle missing) and includes an amount of vintage and antique jewellery and collectable items, in the lower recess below the tray there are included a small number of costume necklaces, most of some age.
