Just by the koshirae we can be sure that it belonged to a high ranking samurai or more probably even to a daimyo. Take your time to appreciate the small details such as the wonderful braiding of the tsuka ito and the wonderful ivory silk. These light color combinations were reserved for the nobles as they rarely had to engage in combat since their mission was to command the ranks, so they could keep the light color without blood or mud stains. In addition, the koshirae is elegant and exquisite. Made in Shakudo (copper and gold alloy) with perfectly detailed cranes and bamboos with gold inlays, they are also signed. Only the highest level works used to be signed in this type of pieces. Besides, the koshirae is in an extraordinary condition with only small imperfections due to time. The blade are in very good condition with vivid Hamon. The sword keeps the signature from the famous smith "Nagamitsu" a very high ranked smith of bizen school.
