Auschwitz Cross - a Polish state decoration established as a tribute to people imprisoned in concentration camps (extermination camps) in tribute to their martyrdom and courage. The name of the decoration comes from the concentration camp Auschwitz Birkenau (which in the period of People's Poland under the name "Oświęcim" was a symbol of the martyrdom of people in concentration camps). Many Poles and Jews of various nationalities lost their lives here On the obverse there is a symbol of a concentration camp prisoner from the war period, and on the reverse there is an inscription "To the prisoners of Nazi concentration camps".
