2008 Sierra Cantabria; Amancio & El Bosque & Teso La Monja, Alabaster (Winery Direct) - Rioja, Toro - 3 Bottles (0.75L)

AMANCIO (DOCa Rioja); It is a tribute to Amancio Eguren, the figure in whom the family places the beginning of their winemaking activity due to the special relationship he had with his grandson, Guillermo Eguren, and for his attitude towards work in the field, an aspect in which they consider themselves direct heirs of his ancestral practices, respectful of the land, known today under generic terms such as 'integrated,' 'sustainable,' and 'organic' agriculture. For this wine, an emblematic vineyard for the family has been selected, La Veguilla, with vines aged 20 to 35 years located in the area of 'La Veguilla,' in the municipality of San Vicente de la Sonsierra (La Rioja). FINCA EL BOSQUE (DOCa Rioja): Finca El Bosque is a 1.48-hectare vineyard owned by us, situated in the surroundings of San Vicente de la Sonsierra (La Rioja). Planted in 1973, it features loamy-clay-sandy soil in texture and clay-limestone in composition. We practice integrated viticulture, respecting the environment and in harmony with the natural biorhythms. Grapes are meticulously selected, berry by berry, and manually destemmed. ALABASTER (DO Toro): Grapes from several of our own plots: Valmediano, La Jara, and Marinacea (DO Toro). All of them pre-phylloxera and over 100 years old. Cultivated under the same viticulture philosophy but with much lower yields due to being located in poorer soils. Regarding the winemaking process, 100% destemmed and fermentation takes place in 1,000-kilo capacity tanks with controlled temperature.
