Exquisite Wallendorf figurine originally named “Prinz mit Odette”/ “Prince with Odette” as titled in “Modell Buch Wallendorf “, designed by the famous artist Kurt Steiner in 1963, in pristine condition. It depicts a scene from the Swan Lake, a romantic ballet in four acts whose music was wrote by the Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Swan Lake is about a prince named Siegfried, who falls in love with the Swan princess, Odette. She is under a magic spell to be a swan by day, but a young woman at night. This magnificent fairytale story act of dance, has been amazingly created in porcelain by Kurt Steiner (1904 - 1970), the famous German modeler and designer since the early 1930s, who influenced Thuringian ornamental porcelain for decades. Wallendorf Porcelain factory has been in operation since 1764, being one of the oldest porcelain trademarks in Germany. It is in excellent to pristine condition, marked on the base with crowned W 1764 in green, impressed numbered #1707, beautifully sculpted and glazed, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
