The picture was made in 2009 at a Damien Hirst Spin Workshop at the Pinchuk Art Centre in Kiev. The ‘Requiem’ exhibition ran from 25th April to 20th September 2009. Four spin machines were installed and trained assistants helped produce paintings in Damien Hirst style. Hirst himself also spent some hours at the workshops and created spin paintings together with the gallery visitors. Approximately 600 spin paintings were produced at these sessions. The artwork has been re-framed.
