The date of the meteorite fall is debated, but was probably within the last few thousand years. It was known to local Inuit for centuries, who used it as a source of meteoritic iron for tools. This specimen comes from the Agpalilik specimen which is displayed in the Natural History Museum of Denmark. Virtually all kilos of this meteorite are in museums around the world.
