Authentic IJA WW2 officer's sword in mountings (Type 98) "shin gunto", gendaito . The blade is traditional hand forged in Showa period ( 1926-1945) by gendai smith Murayama Kanetoshi from Seki city, Gifu prefecture and signed: " Kanetoshi saku ", Rikugun Jumei Tosho, listed in John Slough's book page: 70. The blade has goed WW 2 time polish and shows minor scratches and stains , but no nicks , no crack or chips, no forging flaws and cutting edge is very sharp, " gunome- choji" with konie active hamon and deep temper at the point. Motogasane ": 6,5 mm, " motohaba " : 3,3 cm , length "nagasa" : 66,5 cm, total length in koshirae : 101 cm. Lock mechanism works fine, tsuba, seppa's and fuchi are matched number 85 stamped , tsuka-ito wrapping in good condition , metal brown saya has trace of use (minor lacquer loss, but no bend of dents).
