In January 1969, Zenith announced imminent launch of first fully integrated, high-frequency, automatic chronograph movement "El Primero". Today, Zenith wristwatches meet or exceed rigorous timekeeping C.O.S.C. standards, a reflection Zenith's history of innovative precision timekeeping. Stylish and sophisticated, the offered iconic timepiece combines the traditional precision of the famed mechanical chronograph and a modern look of first-class materials. It is a gentlemen’s dress chronograph wristwatch that internally utilises one of the most highly regarded movements ever produced. Just look at this movement (through the transparent case-back): this is a true ode to watchmaking! Movement: - automatic in-house caliber 4000SC - made Zenitium (see description below) - ball bearing rotor made from full tungsten with guilloche pattern - 31 jewels - frequency: 36,000VpH (5Hz) - power-reserve: 50 + hours - 278 components - automatic winding in both directions - Zenithium is an exclusive alloy made from aluminum, titanium, and niobium. The aluminum gives characteristics of lightness; titanium gives strength; niobium is for form memory. Zenith created this special shock absorbing alloy to strengthen the the chronograph bridge and balance - magnificent mechanism, a feast for the eye of every real connoisseur!
