Van Rossum was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague1. His artistic oeuvre includes paintings, watercolors, drawings, and etchings. He specialized in traditional subjects painted in an Impressionist style, such as landscapes featuring farms and livestock, poultry near a homestead, river and forest scenes.
