Viña Sastre Pesus is a limited-production reserve red wine produced by the Bodegas Hermanos Sastre winery in Ribera del Duero. This is a powerful yet elegant reserve red wine of which only 2,000 bottles have been bottled. All the varieties come from very old vineyards, with an average age of 90 years, planted on clay-limestone soil, about 800 metres above sea level, on the slopes of the Duero River. This red wine from Ribera del Duero is vinified following the traditional method; after the first fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is transferred into new French oak barrels where malolactic fermentation takes place. After that, Viña Sastre Pesus 2015 was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. After that, the wine was aged for a further 18 months in the cellar. After that, the wine was bottled and aged for a further 18 months in the cellar.
