Katana - Tamahagane - Katana Chiyozuru Yamashiro Tradition Echizen province early koto - Japan - Nanbokucho period

Nagasa (CUTTING EDGE): 63CM Nakago (TANG): 20CM Total length with koshirae: About 100 cm This Katana includes: -Sword bag -Shirasaya -NBTHK HOZON PAPER Attributing this stunning work to the chiyozuru smithline. Katana: This katana was forged in the late nanbokucho period to the start of the muromachi period, in other words the late 14th century, the sword is ubu. And the attributed by the NBTHK to the chiyozuru smithline. The blade has a stunning jigane and hamon, and has a large sori (curve), see images for the best impression. Condition: The blade is in recent polish, and is in beautiful condition. See images for all details of the blade. There are some foraging imperfections, but that is to be expected for a blade from this period. The blade fits well in the shirasaya although the shirasaya is longer than the blade itself. Overall a beautiful blade in beautiful condition. I have kept this blade oiled and well-maintained and recommend the next owner to do the same.
