Ian Fleming - The Man With The Golden Gun [Copper foil] - 1965

Up for auction is this visually stunning first edition, first impression of Ian Fleming’s The Man With The Golden Gun. Of note is the particularly vibrant dust jacket, which shows none of the usual spine fade; meaning the the vivid colours stay consistent all the way around the book, front to back. Additionally, not only is this a first edition, first impression, but it features the much rarer ‘copper’ foil lettering on the spine of the black boards. Gilbert - the Fleming bibliography we - notes that only 5,126 copies exist of this copper coloured variant, out of the total first edition print run if 82,000. See pic showing the copper foil book being auctioned here compared to a normal gold gilt foil (standard) book - where the difference between the foils can really be seen. As the pictures show, the book has superb inner text pages - all white and bright and crisp, with no blemishes, spotting/foxing or annotations. There is a small mark to the front board, and there is some minor scuffing along the vertical fold line of the front of the dust jacket, all apart from this, the book presents in very good condition indeed. Most examples have bad sun-browning due to the predominantly yellow and green colours used on the jacket. This book does not suffer this. The book will be sent in a protective sleeve to maintain its condition. Thanks for looking, happy bidding
