Since the purchase, these bottle of wine have been stored in the ideal conditions of a natural wine cellar in one of the estates in northern Switzerland. Therefore, the label was exposed to moisture and dust in a natural cellar. A great warming companion for a winter evening! - Label condition: fully intact, - Condition of clasp: excellent, the capsule is in perfect condition: it has not been removed, has not been damaged and is in its original condition. - Bottle size 0.75 L - Castle bottling With a surface area of 14 hectares (35 acres) planted in one single block, the Vieux Château Certan vineyard is made up of 23 plots, each of them individually managed according to soil type, grape variety planted, and age of vines. The soils are subtly varied and contain a very clayey part planted mainly with Merlot (70%), a gravel-clay part planted with Cabernet Franc (25%) and a very gravelly part planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (5%). Taking into account the total surface area, the average age of the vineyard is 50 years. These old vines, together with the beneficial effect of the Pomerol plateau’s micro-climate, enable the different grape varieties to reach perfect ripeness levels. «Vieux Château Certan is the result of a very special eco-system in which the soil, the vines and the climate blend harmoniously together to produce exceptional wine.» My guess is that the buyer will view this bottle as an investment item, but if drinking this nectar does occur, remember that the bottle should be decanted a couple of hours before consumption!
