Japan - Flag - Vintage Army Flag HINOMARU with Special Wooden box , before 1945 , Military

◆Vintage Army Flag HINOMARU 日の丸 Size: 70 x 86 cm Material: cotton ◆ball ball Size: 7×7×7 cm Weight: 100g Material: clay-based paper ◆Special Wooden box Size: 21.5 x 16.5 x 9 cm Weight: 300g Material: Paulownia tomentosa (桐 kiri) This is an old and rare box from the period before the end of the war. The date of production is not noted, but there are several elements that can be determined. 1 The reading of Japanese Kanji characters flows from right to left. 2 April 29 is the day "Tenchosai 天長祭" to celebrate Emperor Showa's birthday. This is the way it was called in the first half of the Showa period until the end of the war. 3 "Yasukuni Shrine Festival 靖国神社祭" is celebrated twice, in spring and in autumn. Since Japan was defeated by the U.S. in 1945, it is no longer possible to publicly celebrate in the name of Yasukuni Shrine, which enshrines military personnel. For these three reasons, we can conclude that this was before the war(WW2). The wooden partition boards inside the box can be removed, and the box is shippable with them removed. Overall in good condition with a few minor scratches and stains. The green metal plate in particular has a wonderful presence. Stunning. "名誉国旗 Meiyo Kokki" Engraved on the surface of the wooden box." This word means "Flag of Honor". Carved and gilded on the wooden box, it is one of the finest and most special boxes of its time.I have come across many wooden boxes in my life, but I have never seen such a high quality wooden box. The box is made of the finest "kiri 桐 paulownia" wood. Carefully packaged and shipped from Japan to overseas. Other rare items I have listed in my recent auctions. Please check them out.
