Mitsui Iiyama (1880-1934) was a Japanese style painter. Born in Kagawa Prefecture. He first studied Nanga under Toichi Oyo in Oita Prefecture, and later studied under Tanomura Chokunyu in Kyoto. He became a member of the Japan Nanga Association and formed the Japan Nanga Academy with Ikeda Keisen, Kono Shuson and others. He passed away in 1934 at the age of 54. Roller end: bone. Measurements: Scroll: 104 x 29,5 cm Picture: 31 x 21,5 cm Very good condition, there are signs of wear due to age and normal use, stains, marks, scratches, side edge of the lid of tomobako is missing; please, see pictures for actual condition.
