Millefiori Tradebeads - Amhara - Ghana
Three ropes of antique glass tradebeads. made in Venice in the late19th and early 20th Cent. Made in the "Millefiori"- style of inlaid glass in a unicolour matrix. Very nice selection of different designs and colours. These typical beads were exported to Africa, were they were used especially in West-Africa (Ghana) as a form of payment and as ornamentation.
Some beads have small chippings at the ends, du to their old age. A nice selection for an interested collector!
All ropes were collected in the city of Kumasi in the late 1990's.
