2017 Bartolo Mascarello - Barolo - 1 Bottle (0.75L)
No. 84277083
No. 84277083
Bartolo Mascarello was one of the most distinguished winemakers in Piedmont. When he died in 2005 at the age of almost eighty, Barolo fans were deeply saddened.
As were the expectations of his daughter, Maria Teresa Mascarello. Would she be able to maintain the style and quality?
However, the concerns were completely unfounded, as Bartolo had spent decades teaching his daughter all the secrets of the grape varieties, the right way to vinify them and, of course, how to look after the vines. During his lifetime, she was already in charge of many areas of the winery, and Bartolo always spoke his mind very clearly, whether on the subject of wine (barrique, don't do it) or politically. Berlusconi as a person was a nightmare for him, and when he was in danger of getting really angry, he labelled the 1999 wine "No Barriques - No Berlusconi". Everyone knew where they stood.
Maria Teresa inherited her father's combative nature, which is the only way to maintain a consistently high standard.
The bottle is in very good conditions.
