Description: A pair of the 19th-Century Neo-Renaissance X Frame Chairs/Antique Italian Renaissance Revival Oak “Savonarola” or “Dante” Chairs. The bigger one: This Renaissance-style walnut armchair have an X-shaped base, decorated with foliage and scrolls, and joined by a grotesque head. The armrests, which extend above the backrests, are carved with imaginary creatures and scrolls, and are topped with plumes. The top rail has a granite base and is decorated with the same elements described above. The seat is in good and sturdy condition. This armchair is in great original condition, consistent with age and use. Measurement: Width 64 cm x Height 103 cm x Depth 62 cm Weight: about 9kg Period: 1880/90s The smaller one: The frame of the chairs resembles those popular in the Renaissance era, thus it is often called Dante chair. The rails and ornamentations of the chair highlight its representative character. The seat is in good and sturdy condition. This armchair is in great original condition, despite some cracks which has been repaired (seen on the photos), consistent with age and use. Measurement: Width 60 cm x Height 85 cm x Depth 54 cm Weight: about 6kg Period: 1880/90s The armchairs will be professionally packaged and shipped insured. They have been refreshed only with wax.
