Tantō - Tamahagane Yari Tanto 298K3 - Japan - Edo Period (1600-1868)
Beautiful very old Japanese Yari or Ken, it could be identified as a 15th century Ken or a short Yari since its design resembles both characteristics, the sword is sheathed by a beautiful stone-polished and highly polished stingray skin koshirae, currently protected by a synthetic lacquer to preserve the material. Its total length is 39 cm with a cutting line of 19 on both sides. In the center of the blade there is a red line, possibly retouched in the near past. Beautiful collector's item and extremely rare.
