Baye Mouke Traore (1952) - Le manifeste

Painting from Baye Mouké Traoré known as Mouké for sale with certificates of authenticity. Purchased from the artist in Senegal in 2008 and brought to France. Excellent condition. Mouké, the founder of "Moukéism" (sculpted and woven canvas painting), is a highly esteemed and skilled artist, earning him numerous accolades. In 1983, he won the Society of Posts and Telecommunications award, which, after purchasing a model, entrusted him with the weaving. This experience was entirely satisfying, and for the first time, the square meter of tapestry reached five hundred and fifty thousand (550,000) francs in Senegal. In 1996, he was awarded the Grand Prize of the President of the Republic of Senegal for the Arts. In 2002, he was the laureate of the Atelier du 80 in Paris and the bronze medalist of the Salon of the Society of French Artists. The Presidency of the Republic of Senegal, the Ministry of Culture, BCEAO, CBAO, SGBS, SONATEL, POST, ARTP have acquired his works, which they house in their premises. He established a training workshop in Saint-Louis to pass on his expertise to young talents for free. In his generosity, he paved the way by training young artists such as Abdou-karim Fall, Karim Diop, and many other young talents who are now evolving abroad. He taught them what they needed to know about art and gave them the basics to create because, as he said, "when the artist has the hand, he creates, regardless of the medium." Convinced that "art is a factor of balance," he constantly advises the younger generations to get closer to older artists, to continue researching, and to work to improve themselves. Today, he has set up a gallery residence in Thies where he continues to be creative and productive. https://www.enqueteplus.com/content/vernissage-de-l%E2%80%99exposition-de-baye-mouke-traore-%C2%AB-%E2%80%A6-mon-travail-sachez-que-c%E2%80%99est-juste-un
