In the Seventies, after studying architecture, he took on the role of stage photographer working in the field of art and theatre. He later extended his interest to other areas of everyday life, experimenting with the margins and possibilities of photographic language. He has numerous exhibitions to his credit, in Italy and around the world, including those at the Museo de Arte of San Paolo in Brazil (1981), at the Venice Biennale in 1982, at the Lincoln Center in New York in 1985, at the Studio Morra in Naples in 1998, and at La Habana in 1999. More recently, the anthologies “Infiniti” at the Capodimonte Museum in Naples (2007) and “Fabio Donato, wayfarer among the arts” at the PAN in Naples (2010). Several works by Fabio Donato are on permanent display in the Metro dell'Arte in Naples.
