Seiko - 5 Sports Diver “UFO” - No Reserve Price - 6119-6400 - Men - 1970-1979

Seiko 6119-6400 Automatic 5 Sports Diver “UFO” Model-6119-6400 Dial-Orange Diameter- 43mm Lugs- 19mm Band Size-200mm Seiko's UFO Sport Divers from the late 60's and 70's offer big and bold diver styling with pounds of vintage appeal. The UFO moniker comes from the “saucer” shaped style of the case, and it has long been a favorite of vintage seiko collectors. This example from June of ‘74 is an absolute stunner, sure to earn a regular spot in any rotation. It is extremely well preserved with a minty Black dial boasting crisp markings and bright white luminous markers. The rotating inner bezel is a glossy black "count up" style that rotates freely in either direction via the crown. Lengthy polished batons make for ease of legibility, and the bright orange sweep can’t be missed. The factory circular brush finish on the case is still visible, and it’s topped with a polished edge bezel with flat black inlay. The original bracelet is in tow, and with a wide block style link and beefy hinges, it adds tons of vintage character. It’s completely original aside from a replacement mineral crystal, and the 6119C driving the hands is keeping near perfect time post service. Versatile appeal and a work horse calibre come together in a classic sport diver that’s as robust as it is reliable. Seiko Block Link Double-Hinged Bracelet in Stainless Steel Note:The watch contains aftermarket parts.(dial, bezel insert , hands , inner bezel, bracelet) This watch contains aftermarket customisations without permission from the brand. This could impact the watch value and might void manufacturer warranties. Including , polishing , aftermarket dial , hands , bracelet , crystal , bezel insert and pushers. We ask sellers to mention any known aftermarket parts. We do not guarantee water resistance on vintage watches . The brand might refuse servicing and repairs to watches modified by unlicensed watchmakers. Please use photos as part of the description. Seiko produced no shortage of sport divers in the late 60's and 70's, but none so memorable and as sought after as those that carry the "Rally" distinction. So named for their checkered bezels and dials, they are an instantly recognisable combination of color and cool. This example from December of 1970 is one exception. The case is a 42mm barrel that’s unpolished with the original finishes still visible. The knurled bezel rotates smoothly in either direction, and the insert shows only moderate wear. Beneath it, the sunburst dial is a lacquered azure blue. It’s set with polished applied markers, each with a single silver strap through the center. The hour and minute hands are polished batons, and in contrast to the dial, the sweep is a bright blaze orange. Framing the dial is a steeply angled chapter ring consisting of silver minute blocks against larger black hour blocks with luminous plots. As Seiko sport divers go, the “Rally” is the king of cool, and a must have in any collection. Condition: the item is in good condition.
