This Japanese antique Imari Arita porcelain plate was made by Tsukuru for Hichozan Shinpo-sei, and dates back from the late Edo and early Meiji period between 1860-1880. Very fine handmade Arita porcelain with top glaze iro-enamel to create richly painted create art on porcelain. Hichozan Shinpo-sei, although of short duration, was long known as one of the highest quality works of old Imari. Measurements: D, 25.cm Hichozan was a trade name used by the group of Arita ovens & makers, mainly for export during the late Edo to the Meiji period in the 19th century. The name refers to the Arita ovens. Hichozan Shinpo: a trademark use by Tashiro Monzaemon. The Hichozan style of Imari was made between the Edo and Meji in the Showa period.
